Compact SFF desktop for office work

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720s is a small-form-factor business desktop powered by an Intel Core i5-8500 hexa-core processor running at 3.0 GHz with a turbo frequency of 4.1 GHz. It includes 32 GB of DDR4 memory, a 512 GB M.2 solid-state drive plus a 1 TB solid-state drive, Intel UHD Graphics 630, a DVD-ROM drive, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth via USB dongle, and Windows 11 Pro pre-installed. A USB keyboard and mouse are supplied in the box.

Suited for general business and home-office tasks

This system handles everyday productivity, web browsing, video conferencing and multi-monitor setups through integrated graphics. The dual-drive layout keeps the operating system responsive while providing ample space for documents and media. Buyers who need discrete graphics for 3D rendering, CAD or modern gaming should consider a different configuration. The small chassis also limits internal expansion compared with larger towers.

The hexa-core i5-8500 with 65 W TDP decides fit

Six cores and a 4.1 GHz boost clock deliver strong single- and multi-thread performance for typical office workloads within a modest power envelope. If your software demands higher sustained clock speeds, more cores or a dedicated GPU, this processor will become the bottleneck. Match the CPU capability to your workload before purchasing.

Questions about this item

How much power does the 65 W i5-8500 draw when the M720s runs all day?

The processor is rated at 65 W, so sustained workloads will stay near that level inside the small-form-factor chassis.

Which display cables do I need to connect my existing monitors to the Intel UHD Graphics 630?

The integrated graphics provide standard video outputs; match your monitor inputs to the available ports on the rear of the unit.

Will my current DDR4 memory modules work alongside the installed 32 GB if I want to expand later?

The system uses DDR4 UDIMM memory; any additional sticks must be DDR4 UDIMM to be compatible.
