Compact business desktop

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720s SFF is a small-form-factor desktop built around an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8700 hexa-core processor running at 3.20 GHz with a 4.60 GHz turbo frequency. Six cores and twelve threads handle office productivity, web apps and light multitasking. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 memory and a dual-drive layout with a 128 GB M.2 SSD plus a 1 TB hard drive give quick boot times and ample file space. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed for immediate deployment.

Build integration

The SFF chassis fits tight workspaces and uses a 65 W processor that keeps thermal demands modest. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 drives displays without a discrete card, freeing the single low-profile expansion slot for other add-in boards. Two DDR4 DIMM slots support up to 32 GB total, so memory can be doubled later. A USB 5 GHz-capable wireless dongle provides Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity without internal antenna routing. No monitor is included, so an external display must be sourced separately.

Included peripherals

A Lenovo USB keyboard and USB mouse ship in the box, removing the need to order input devices separately. The DVD-ROM drive reads legacy media and software discs. Windows 10 Pro arrives activated, eliminating separate licence procurement. The wireless dongle enables cable-free networking and peripheral pairing right out of the carton.

Questions about this item

Does the 65 W i7-8700 throttle under long multi-core loads in this SFF chassis?

The 65 W TDP and SFF design mean sustained all-core work will hit thermal limits before the 4.60 GHz boost can hold.

How loud and hot does the system get when it runs all day?

The small-form-factor case and 65 W processor push fan speeds up during extended use, so expect noticeable airflow noise and warm exhaust.

Is a display included or do I need to supply my own monitor?

No monitor is included; you must provide a display with a compatible video input for the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630.
