ThinkCentre M73 business desktop

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M73 is a compact business desktop built around an Intel Core i5-4570T dual-core processor running at 2.90 GHz with 4 MB L3 cache. It ships with 4 GB of DDR3 1600 memory and a hybrid storage layout combining a 500 GB hard drive with an 8 GB solid-state cache. Windows 7 Professional 64-bit is pre-installed with Windows 8 Pro downgrade rights.

Sustained workload behaviour

The 35 W T-series processor and Intel H81 chipset keep thermals modest during extended office tasks such as document processing, web sessions and light 2D design work. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600 drives dual independent displays without a discrete card, so the small chassis stays quiet while the SSHD cache accelerates repeated application launches over long days.

Upgrade context and limits

This system replaces older Core 2 or first-generation Core desktops that struggle with 64-bit line-of-business applications and multi-monitor setups. The SoDIMM 204-pin memory slots and single 3.5-inch bay constrain expansion, so buyers who want more storage or higher graphics performance should plan a different platform.

Questions about this item

How much power does the Intel Core i5-4570T draw when the M73 runs all day?

The processor is rated at 35 W TDP, so sustained load stays within that envelope and the small form factor fan keeps noise low.

Which display cables must I already own to use the Intel HD Graphics 4600 outputs?

The rear panel provides DisplayPort and VGA, so have a DisplayPort cable or a VGA lead ready for each monitor you plan to connect.

Can I keep my existing DDR3-1600 SoDIMM modules when upgrading this M73?

Yes, the board accepts 204-pin DDR3-1600 SoDIMMs, so any matching sticks you already own will work without change.
