ThinkCentre M83/M93 SFF i5-4570

This small-form-factor desktop is built around a 4th Generation Intel Core i5-4570 processor running at 3.20GHz up to 3.60GHz with four cores. It ships with 16GB DDR3 memory and a 512GB SSD, plus a wired keyboard and mouse. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and a Wi-Fi adapter is included for wireless connectivity.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

The system suits office workers, students or home users who need a compact, ready-to-run PC for everyday productivity, web browsing and 4K video playback via DisplayPort. Buyers who require a dedicated graphics card, more than 16GB of RAM, additional internal drive bays or a newer memory standard should consider other platforms.

Deciding specification: 16GB DDR3 maximum memory

The motherboard supports a maximum of 16GB DDR3, which is already installed, so no further memory upgrades are possible. This fixed ceiling determines whether the machine can handle your workload or if you need a platform with expandable memory.

Questions about this item

How much heat and fan noise does the Core i5-4570 3.20GHz up to 3.60GHz produce inside the SFF chassis during all-day use?

The 45 W TDP quad-core processor runs at 3.20 GHz base and 3.60 GHz boost; the small-form-factor case uses a compact cooler that stays audible but not intrusive under sustained load.

Which display cable do I need to connect my monitor to the DisplayPort output on this desktop?

A standard DisplayPort cable is required; the integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600 drives 4K resolution at 60 Hz through that port.

Will my existing DDR3 memory modules work if I want to expand beyond the installed 16 GB?

The board supports a maximum of 16 GB DDR3 across two slots, both already populated, so no further upgrade is possible.
