Lenovo ThinkPad 11.4V 24Wh Battery

This replacement battery operates at 11.4 volts with a 24 watt-hour capacity. It is built for Lenovo ThinkPad T470, T480, T570, T580, P51S, P52S, A475, A485 and TP25 series laptops. The lithium-polymer pack weighs 0.5 pounds and comes in black.

Who this fits and who it does not

It suits owners of the listed ThinkPad models needing a 24Wh pack that matches part numbers 01AV423, 01AV422, 01AV424, 01AV452, 01AV490, 4X50M08810, SB10K97579, SB10K97580, SB10K97581 or SB10K97597. Builders with T460s, T470s or T480s machines must choose a different battery because this unit will not fit those chassis.

The spec that decides fit

Voltage and capacity are fixed at 11.4V and 24Wh, so the part only works in systems designed for that exact rating. The pack also replaces higher-capacity 48Wh and 72Wh variants but cannot be used where a different voltage is required.

Questions about this item

Will the 01AV423 battery fit my ThinkPad T470 without modification?

Yes, the 01AV423 is a direct replacement for the T470, T480, T570, T580, P51S, P52S, A475, A485 and TP25 series; it will not fit the T460s, T470s or T480s models.

Which screw or latch do I release first when swapping the 01AV423 battery?

Power off the laptop, slide the external battery latch to the unlock position, then lift the battery out; the common mistake is forgetting to fully slide the latch before pulling.

How many charge cycles does the 01AV423 support before capacity drops?

The manufacturer rates the 01AV423 at 500 recharge cycles; after that point runtime will gradually decrease.
