Built for mobile professionals

The ThinkPad E14 Gen 5 is a 14.0 inch business laptop powered by a 10-core Intel Core i7-1355U processor. It comes with 40GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM and a 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD running Windows 11 Pro. Weighing 1.41kg at 17.99mm thin, it targets professionals and small businesses needing portable performance for remote work and content creation.

Sustained workload behaviour

The 10-core processor reaches 5.00 GHz P-core max turbo and 3.70 GHz E-core max within a 47Wh battery envelope. Integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics share system memory during extended sessions. The chassis meets MIL-STD 810H durability standards. Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax 2x2 and Bluetooth5.2 maintain connectivity while the 300 nits anti-glare IPS panel runs at 60 Hz.

Upgrade context and limits

This configuration replaces older 8GB or 16GB ultraportables where memory pressure slowed multitasking. The 40GB capacity and 1TB NVMe storage remove that bottleneck for typical office suites and light creative tasks. Buyers who want discrete graphics acceleration or user-replaceable memory should look elsewhere. The 1080p FHD RGB camera with privacy shutter and fingerprint reader satisfy modern security baselines.

Questions about this item

How loud or hot does the i7-1355U get when the laptop runs all day on battery?

The 47 Wh battery powers the 10-core i7-1355U and integrated Iris Xe graphics through a full workday; the MIL-STD 810H chassis dissipates heat without a loud fan profile.

Which cables or docks must I already own to drive two external 4K monitors?

You need a Thunderbolt 4 cable or dock for one 4K display and an HDMI cable for the second; both ports are built into the E14 Gen 5.

Will my older USB-A keyboard and mouse work straight away?

Yes — the laptop still includes a full-size USB-A port, so legacy peripherals connect without an adapter.
