Business laptop for mobile professionals

The Lenovo Thinkpad L14 Gen 2 is a new 14.0" business laptop built for professionals who need reliable performance on the move. It pairs an 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor with 32GB DDR4 memory and a 500GB PCIe SSD. The 1920x1080 IPS display and Windows 11 Pro complete a ready-to-work package.

Upgrade from 8GB or 16GB systems

Moving from a machine with 8GB or 16GB RAM to this 32GB configuration removes bottlenecks when running virtual machines, large spreadsheets or many browser tabs at once. The jump is worth it if your current system stalls on memory-heavy workloads rather than raw CPU speed. The integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics handles standard office output but cannot replace discrete graphics for 3D rendering or gaming.

Simple setup with standard ports

Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed so the laptop reaches the desktop in minutes. Connectivity covers Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, Ethernet, HDMI and Thunderbolt 4 for docks or external monitors. The 45WHr battery and 65W adapter support typical office days; very long unplugged sessions may need a power bank. Soldered memory means the 32GB capacity cannot be increased later.

Questions about this item

What are the exact width, depth and height of the L14 Gen 2 so I can check it fits my bag or dock?

The chassis measures 13.03 IN wide, 9.25 IN deep and .75 IN high, weighing 3.5 lb with the 3-cell 45 WHr battery installed.

Which screw and slot do I use to add a second drive, and what keying does the M.2 socket require?

The 500 GB PCIe SSD occupies the single M.2 slot; there is no second M.2 or 2.5-inch bay, so internal storage cannot be expanded.

When will the 45 WHr battery need replacing, and which Lenovo part number fits the L14 Gen 2?

The integrated 3-cell 45 WHr pack is not user-replaceable; service requires a Lenovo authorised technician using the correct FRU for this chassis.
