Mobile workstation with 64 GB DDR4

The Lenovo ThinkPad P50 is a 15.6 inch mobile workstation built around an Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor and 64 GB of DDR4 memory. It runs Windows 10 Pro and includes a 500 GB hard drive for storage. The NVIDIA Quadro M1000M graphics card targets professional applications such as 3D rendering and ISV-certified workloads.

Verify power and peripheral needs

Confirm that your docking station or power adapter matches the unit's proprietary connector before ordering. Check that any external displays use interfaces supported by the available video outputs on this model. Ensure your workflow does not require a solid-state boot drive, as the system ships with a mechanical hard disk only.

Spill-resistant keyboard and UltraNav pointing

The full-sized keyboard is spill-resistant and includes the TrackPoint pointing stick alongside the UltraNav touchpad for precise cursor control. A fingerprint reader adds biometric login without extra peripherals. The anti-glare IPS panel at 1920 x 1080 reduces reflections in bright offices. At up to 5.9 lbs the chassis remains portable for a workstation-class device.

Questions about this item

Does the box include the AC adapter and are any cables or peripherals sold separately?

The laptop ships with the AC adapter and standard documentation; no extra cables or peripherals are included in the package.

Is the 64 GB DDR4 memory a single module or multiple sticks, and can I add more later?

The 64 GB DDR4 is factory-installed across the available slots; the platform supports up to 64 GB total, so no further memory expansion is possible.

How does the 3.5 GHz turbo speed of the i7-6700HQ behave during sustained CAD rendering on the Quadro M1000M?

The processor can reach 3.5 GHz on short bursts, but under continuous heavy load it will throttle to lower clocks to manage thermals inside the 15.6" chassis.
