Mobile workstation with Quadro graphics

The ThinkPad P71 pairs an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor with 16GB DDR4 memory and an NVIDIA Quadro M620 graphics card carrying 2GB VRAM. A 17.3-inch FHD IPS panel at 1920 x 1080 provides a non-touch workspace suited to CAD and 3D rendering. Windows 7 Professional comes pre-installed on a 500GB hard drive spinning at 7200RPM. ISV certification covers over 100 professional applications.

Compatibility checks before ordering

Verify that your workflow accepts Windows 7 Professional, as Microsoft no longer provides mainstream support for this operating system. Confirm that 16GB of system memory and 500GB of mechanical storage meet your project requirements. The Quadro M620 is a mobile workstation GPU; ensure your software stack is certified for this specific graphics adapter. A fingerprint reader and secure chip handle biometric login and hardware-based security.

Build quality and daily connectivity

The chassis includes a full-sized, spill-resistant keyboard with a TrackPoint pointing device for precise navigation. IPS technology gives wide viewing angles on the anti-glare screen during long sessions. An expansive selection of ports supports docking and peripheral attachment without dongles. Dual-band Intel wireless handles network connectivity. The 6MB L2 and L3 caches on the quad-core CPU assist sustained multitasking performance.
