Mobile workstation for ISV workloads

The Lenovo ThinkPad P71 is a 17.3" mobile workstation built around an Intel Core i7-7820HQ processor with four cores and a 3.90 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 16GB DDR4 RAM at 2400 MHz, a 500GB 7200RPM hard drive and an NVIDIA Quadro M620M GPU with 2GB VRAM. Windows 7 Professional comes pre-installed on this new unit.

Suited for certified apps, not modern gaming

Engineers and analysts who rely on ISV-certified stability for legacy CAD, CAE or modelling software will find the Quadro M620M and Windows 7 Pro combination fit for purpose. Buyers who need current driver stacks, DirectX 12 features or higher frame rates in modern titles should look elsewhere. The non-touch FHD IPS panel serves colour-critical work but lacks the pixel density of 4K alternatives.

Quadro M620M with 2GB VRAM decides fit

The professional graphics card carries 2GB of video memory and ISV certifications across over 100 applications, making it the single spec that determines whether this workstation matches a given workflow. If the target software demands more VRAM or a newer GPU architecture, this model will not meet the requirement. All other components scale around this graphics subsystem.
