ThinkPad T14 Gen 2 Intel laptop

The ThinkPad T14 Gen 2 is a 14 inch touchscreen notebook built for professionals who need a durable device that works in the office and in the field. It runs on an Intel Core i7 1165G7 quad core processor at 2.80 GHz with 16 GB of memory and a 512 GB SSD. The Full HD display shows 1920 by 1080 resolution.

Thermals noise and power draw

The laptop uses a low power Intel Core i7 1165G7 chip rated for efficient performance in a thin chassis. Under normal workloads the cooling system keeps the unit quiet while maintaining steady clock speeds. Battery life is described as epic by the manufacturer so typical office use should last through a full day.

Upgrade path and value

This model replaces an older T series laptop when the user needs Thunderbolt ports and a modern quad core processor. The jump is worth it if the current machine lacks a touchscreen or struggles with 16 GB memory limits. Buyers who want more storage than 512 GB or a dedicated graphics card should look elsewhere.
