14.0" Business Laptop with Linux Mint

The Lenovo Thinkpad T14 Gen 2 is a new business laptop configured for professionals who prefer a Linux-based workflow. It ships with Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon pre-installed, removing the need for manual operating system setup. The 14.0 inch Full HD IPS display provides a 1920 x 1080 resolution in a compact chassis. This unit targets users wanting a ready-to-deploy mobile workstation.

16GB DDR4 Memory Configuration

The system includes 16GB of DDR4 SO-DIMM memory soldered or slotted for standard operation. This capacity decides whether the laptop can handle your typical multitasking load without paging to the 2TB PCIe SSD. No other memory size or generation is present in this specific build. Buyers needing more than 16GB for virtual machines or large datasets should look elsewhere.

Thunderbolt 4 and HDMI Video Outputs

Two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports and one HDMI port allow connection to external displays or docking stations using a single cable. This expands the workspace beyond the integrated 14.0 inch panel without requiring proprietary dock connectors. The 720p webcam and combo audio jack support conferencing directly. Users requiring legacy USB-A or Ethernet rely on the included ports.

Questions about this item

How does the i5-1135G7's 4.2 GHz boost speed affect everyday workloads?

The four-core processor reaches 4.2 GHz on short bursts, so office apps and web browsing feel snappy while sustained loads run at lower clocks to manage heat.

What does the Thunderbolt 4 ports' 40 Gbit/s bandwidth mean for external displays?

Each USB-C port carries 40 Gbit/s, letting you drive two 4K monitors or one 8K panel plus high-speed storage without a separate dock.

Will the 12.9 x 8.9 x 0.70 in chassis fit in a standard 14-inch sleeve?

Yes — the 14.0-inch footprint and 0.70-inch thickness match typical 14-inch business sleeves, and the 3.23 lb weight keeps the bag light.
