Business laptop with dual OS

The Lenovo Thinkpad T14 Gen 2 is a new business laptop configured with an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor, 32GB DDR4 memory and a 4TB PCIe SSD. It ships with Windows 10 Pro and Linux Mint 20 in a dual-boot arrangement. Professionals who need both environments on one device can select either operating system at startup.

Connectivity and chassis

The 14.0 inch Full HD IPS display offers a 1920 x 1080 resolution without touch input. A 720p webcam sits above the screen. Ports include two USB-A 3.2 Gen1 sockets, two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 connectors, HDMI, a micro SD reader, RJ45 Ethernet and a combo audio jack. The black chassis weighs 3.23lb and measures 12.9 x 8.9 x .70 inches.

Integrated graphics and OS switching

Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics drives the display and external outputs via Thunderbolt 4 or HDMI. Wireless connectivity uses Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. The 50WHr battery pairs with a 65W power supply. Switching between the two installed operating systems requires a full reboot; they cannot run simultaneously. Buyers who need concurrent OS environments or discrete GPU performance should consider a different configuration.
