ThinkPad T14 Gen 2 i5-1145G7 14" FHD

The Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 2 is a 14.0-inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-1145G7 quad-core processor with a 4.40 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB NVMe PCIe SSD, running Windows 11 Pro on a 1920 x 1080 non-touch display with LED backlighting.

Suited for mobile professionals needing

Two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.0 and RJ-45 Ethernet cover docking and peripheral needs. Wireless connectivity uses 802.11ax Wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. Buyers who want a touchscreen, a larger screen or user-upgradeable memory slots should look at other models.

Soldered memory caps total RAM at 40 GB

The system has zero memory slots; the 16 GB DDR4 is soldered and the manufacturer lists 40 GB as the maximum supported capacity. If your workload requires more than 40 GB of RAM or the ability to swap DIMMs yourself, this chassis cannot meet that requirement.

Questions about this item

How many DDR4 SODIMM slots are free for adding memory beyond the 16 GB already installed?

The board has zero user-accessible slots; the 16 GB is soldered, so the 40 GB ceiling is reached only by factory configuration.

Which driver must be installed before the Thunderbolt 4 ports will carry video to an external monitor?

Install the Intel Thunderbolt Controller driver from Lenovo Vantage first; without it the USB-C ports work for data only.

Is the 256 GB NVMe drive removable, and what form-factor replacement does it accept?

Yes, the PCIe NVMe SSD sits in an M.2 2280 slot and can be swapped for any larger PCIe NVMe drive.
