Built for mobile professionals

The 14-inch ThinkPad T14 Gen 3 pairs a 10-core Intel Core i5-1245U with 32 GB DDR4 memory and a 2 TB NVMe SSD. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed. The WUXGA display runs at 1920 x 1200 without touch input. Intel Iris Xe graphics handle everyday visual tasks. Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.0, Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6 provide broad connectivity for office or remote work.

Thermals noise and power

The hybrid 2P+8E architecture scales from 1.2 GHz efficient cores up to 4.4 GHz turbo when workloads demand it. Shared system memory for the integrated GPU keeps the power envelope contained during typical productivity use. The spill-resistant keyboard and military-grade chassis are designed to sustain performance without excessive fan noise in normal conditions. No discrete graphics card means lower baseline heat output.

Security and docking upgrades

A fingerprint reader, discrete TPM 2.0 chip and optional IR camera support Windows Hello and hardware-level encryption out of the box. Dual Thunderbolt 4 ports enable single-cable docks, external GPUs or dual 4K monitors while charging the system. The always-on USB-A port charges phones even when the laptop sleeps. HDMI 2.0 adds a simple second-screen option without adapters.

Questions about this item

How do I install an additional NVMe drive in the ThinkPad T14 Gen 3, and which screw size catches people out?

The laptop has one NVMe PCIe slot occupied by the 2 TB drive. Adding a second drive is not possible on this chassis, so there is no extra screw to lose.

What maintenance will the 32 GB DDR4 memory and 2 TB NVMe SSD need over time?

The 32 GB DDR4 is soldered and cannot be upgraded. The NVMe SSD is replaceable; keep firmware updated via Lenovo Vantage and monitor SMART health for wear.

Which limit appears first during sustained loads on the Core i5-1245U with Iris Xe graphics?

The 10-core 1245U hits its 4.4 GHz turbo ceiling, then thermal throttling caps performance before the shared Iris Xe memory bandwidth becomes the bottleneck.
