Purpose-built portable workstation

The Lenovo ThinkPad T470 is a 14.0" FHD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6500U dual-core processor running at 2.50 GHz with a 3.10 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 32GB of DDR4 memory and a new 2TB 2.5" SATA SSD. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed, making it ready for professional workloads immediately.

Build integration and expansion

The system uses two memory slots and already reaches the 32 GB maximum supported capacity, so no further RAM upgrades are possible. Storage relies on a 2.5" SATA interface, leaving M.2 slots unavailable for additional drives. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handles the 1920 x 1080 display without requiring a discrete GPU or extra power.

Included software and accessories

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit provides BitLocker encryption, Remote Desktop hosting and domain join capabilities for managed environments. The pre-loaded operating system eliminates the need for a separate licence purchase or clean installation. A 365 day parts and labour warranty covers the hardware from the date of purchase.

Questions about this item

Does the i7-6500U throttle when both cores run at 3.10 GHz for long periods?

The dual-core processor reaches 3.10 GHz turbo, but sustained load will hit thermal limits before both cores hold that speed continuously.

How loud does the cooling get during an all-day workload?

The fan spins up under heavy CPU load, yet typical office use keeps noise at a low background hum.

Which memory type must already be installed for the 32 GB to work?

The system uses DDR4 modules in its two slots, and 32 GB is the maximum supported capacity.
