ThinkPad T470s 14-inch touchscreen notebook

The ThinkPad T470s 20HF0015US is a 14.0-inch Windows 10 Pro laptop with a 1920 x 1080 touchscreen display. It runs on an Intel Core i7-7600U dual-core processor at 2.80 GHz with 8 GB DDR4 memory and a 256 GB SSD. Integrated HD Graphics 620 handles visual output. The 3-cell lithium-ion battery powers the 2.91 lb black chassis.

Connectivity and expansion for the T470s

One HDMI port connects an external monitor or projector for presentations or extra screen space. IEEE 802.11ac WLAN and Bluetooth provide wireless networking and peripheral links without cables. The integrated graphics and soldered memory mean the GPU and RAM cannot be upgraded later. The 256 GB SSD stores the operating system and applications, freeing the buyer from adding a separate hard drive.

Business users wanting touch input on a light

This unit suits professionals who need a responsive touchscreen, native Windows 10 Pro and a compact footprint for travel or desk docking. Buyers who want more storage, discrete graphics, user-replaceable memory or a larger display should look at something else.

Questions about this item

Does the 8 GB DDR4 memory limit multitasking with large workloads?

The system ships with 8 GB DDR4 and no spare slot is mentioned, so heavy multitasking will hit that ceiling first.

How loud or hot does the 3-cell lithium-ion battery and integrated HD Graphics 620 get during all-day use?

Integrated HD Graphics 620 and a 3-cell lithium-ion battery keep heat and fan noise modest for typical office loads.

Which cables or adapters must I already own to connect an external monitor via the 1 x HDMI port?

A standard HDMI cable is all that is required to drive an external display from the single HDMI output.
