Product identity

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480 is a 14.0 inch HD laptop with a 1366 x 768 display. It runs on an Intel Core i5-7200U dual-core processor at 2.50 GHz with a 3.10 GHz turbo frequency, 32 GB of DDR4 memory and a new 2 TB SATA SSD. No operating system is installed.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This configuration suits users who need a ready-to-go machine with 32 GB of RAM and a large 2 TB drive for local files. Buyers who require a touchscreen, a higher-resolution panel or a discrete graphics adapter should consider other models. The unit ships without an OS so the purchaser must supply and install their own.

Deciding specification

The display is a non-touch HD panel at 1366 x 768 resolution driven by Intel HD Graphics 620. If that resolution and integrated graphics meet the workflow, the 32 GB memory and 2 TB SSD provide ample headroom for typical business applications.

Questions about this item

Will the 14.0" 1366 x 768 display lid clear my existing ThinkPad dock?

The 14.0" HD panel uses the standard ThinkPad T-series hinge spacing, so it aligns with any mechanical dock that supports the T480 chassis.

Does the 32GB DDR4 configuration require both memory slots to be populated?

Yes — the 32 GB DDR4 total fills the two available slots, so the system reaches its 32 GB maximum without leaving a free slot for later expansion.

Can the 2TB 2.5" SATA SSD be swapped for a larger drive down the road?

The 2.5" SATA bay accepts any 7 mm SATA SSD or HDD, so you can replace the 2 TB unit with a higher-capacity 2.5" drive when needed.
