Business-Ready Laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480s is a 14.0" Windows 10 Pro laptop built for professionals who need a durable, secure machine for daily productivity. It combines an Intel Core i5-8250U processor with 16GB DDR4 RAM and a 128GB SSD to handle office workloads efficiently.

Mobile Professionals

This model suits buyers who want a lightweight system tested to 21 MIL-SPEC standards with integrated 4G LTE WWAN for connectivity on the move. It is not for users who require larger local storage capacity or a dedicated graphics processor for intensive visual tasks.

Straightforward Setup

The laptop arrives with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit pre-installed so it is ready to use after the initial configuration steps. The main friction point is the modest 128GB drive which can fill quickly, requiring early storage management or an upgrade.

Questions about this item

Does the laptop need a SIM card before the 4G LTE WWAN can connect?

Yes, the 4G LTE WWAN module requires an active nano-SIM inserted in the slot to establish a mobile data connection.

Can I keep using my existing USB-A peripherals with the four USB ports on this T480s?

The four USB ports include USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A connectors, so current USB-A mice, keyboards and drives work without adapters.

How can I confirm the Thunderbolt 3 port is functioning at full 40 Gbps speed after setup?

Connect a Thunderbolt 3 device, then check the Intel Thunderbolt Software — it will show a 40 Gbps link width and PCIe tunnelling status.
