Business laptop for mobile professionals

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480s ships new with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, an Intel Core i5-8250U processor at 1.60 GHz up to 3.40 GHz, 12 GB DDR4 memory and a 1 TB SSD. A 14.0-inch IPS FHD matte panel at 1920 x 1080 gives clear viewing angles for office work and travel. Integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics handles everyday visual tasks.

Memory and storage headroom for typical workloads

Twelve gigabytes of DDR4 RAM keeps dozens of browser tabs, Office apps and video calls running together without swapping. The 1 TB SSD provides ample room for large project files, local databases and offline media libraries. Demanding creative suites or virtual machines will eventually exceed the integrated graphics and dual-core CPU limits.

MIL-SPEC tested chassis

The laptop passes 21 MIL-SPEC tests for shock, vibration and temperature extremes, so it survives daily commutes and field use. Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C delivers up to 40 Gbps for docks, external GPUs or high-speed storage. Fingerprint reader and ThinkShutter webcam cover add physical security. Bluetooth 4.1 connects peripherals wirelessly. Weight ranges from 2 to 2.9 lbs.

Questions about this item

Will the 14.0" 1920x1080 IPS display work with my older Thunderbolt 3 dock?

The laptop has a Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port that supports up to 40 Gbps data and dual-video bandwidth, so it will drive the dock's display outputs and peripherals at full speed.

How can I confirm the Intel Core i5-8250U and 12 GB DDR4 are running correctly after first boot?

Open Task Manager's Performance tab to verify 4 cores at up to 3.40 GHz and 12 GB DDR4 memory; run the built-in Lenovo Vantage hardware scan for a full component check.

What ships in the box and what must I buy separately for the 1 TB SSD model?

The box contains the ThinkPad T480s with 1 TB SSD, 12 GB DDR4, 14.0" FHD IPS display, fingerprint reader, Windows 10 Pro licence, power adapter and documentation; external Thunderbolt 3 cables or docks are not included.
