Business Ultrabook with WWAN

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480s is a 14.0" Windows 10 Pro laptop built for mobile professionals who need integrated 4G LTE connectivity. It runs on an Intel Core i5-8250U processor with a base frequency of 1.60 GHz and 8 GB of DDR4 memory. The 180 GB SSD and 1920 x 1080 IPS matte display support daily office workflows away from a desk.

Sustained performance with Thunderbolt 3

The quad-core CPU can reach 3.40 GHz under load while Intel UHD 620 graphics handle standard business visuals. Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C delivers up to 40 Gbps bandwidth for fast external storage or dual 4K docking. The chassis passes 21 MIL-SPEC tests, so thermals stay controlled during extended sessions without throttling surprises.

Straightforward deployment for IT fleets

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit arrives pre-installed, letting the device join domains and manage policies immediately. A match-on-chip fingerprint reader and ThinkShutter webcam cover satisfy common security baselines without extra configuration. Soldered memory prevents RAM upgrades, and the 180 GB drive may require early replacement for users with large local datasets.

Questions about this item

How hot or loud does the Core i5-8250U get when the ThinkPad T480s runs all day?

The 8250U is rated at 1.60 GHz base with a 3.40 GHz turbo, so sustained loads will spin the fan but the 14.0" chassis stays within normal business-laptop thermals.

What must I already own to use the Thunderbolt 3 port on this T480s?

A Thunderbolt 3 cable or dock and a compatible USB-C device are required; the port delivers up to 40 Gbps and can supply power.

Will my older USB-A peripherals work with the four USB ports on this T480s?

Yes, all four USB ports accept standard USB-A plugs, so existing mice, keyboards and drives connect without adapters.
