Business laptop for mobile professionals

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480s is a 14-inch Windows 10 Pro notebook built around an Intel Core i5-8250U processor with a base clock of 1.60 GHz and a maximum turbo of 3.40 GHz. It targets users who need a lightweight, durable machine for office applications, video calls and secure log-in via the integrated fingerprint reader.

Capacity and headroom for daily workloads

The 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD provides fast boot and application loading, while 8GB of DDR4 memory handles typical multitasking with web browsers, document suites and collaboration tools. Heavier tasks such as large dataset analysis, virtual machines or modern gaming will exhaust the available memory and integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics headroom.

Thunderbolt 3 and security extras included

A Thunderbolt 3 port delivers up to 40 Gbps of data and video bandwidth through USB-C, enabling single-cable docking and external GPU enclosures. The bundled ThinkShutter webcam cover and match-on-chip fingerprint reader add physical privacy and biometric authentication without requiring additional accessories.

Questions about this item

Will the 40 Gbps Thunderbolt 3 port on this T480s work with my existing USB-C monitor and charger?

The USB-C port supports Thunderbolt 3 at 40 Gbps and delivers power, so it can drive a compatible USB-C monitor and charge the laptop with a supported adapter.

How can I confirm the i5-8250U is hitting its 3.40 GHz boost and the 512 GB NVMe SSD is recognised after first boot?

Open Task Manager > Performance to see the CPU climb toward 3.40 GHz under load and verify the 512 GB PCIe NVMe SSD appears as the boot drive.

Does the box include a WWAN antenna and SIM tray for the 4G LTE module, or must I source them separately?

The integrated 4G LTE WWAN module ships with internal antennas and a SIM card slot already installed; no extra parts are required for cellular connectivity.
