Business laptop with 24 GB memory

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480s is a 14-inch business laptop running Windows 10 Pro. It uses an Intel Core i5-8250U processor with a base clock of 1.60 GHz and a maximum turbo of 3.4 GHz. The system includes 24 GB of DDR4 memory and a 128 GB SSD. It is built for professionals who need a portable, durable machine for office applications and remote work.

128 GB SSD and 24 GB RAM capacity

The 128 GB solid-state drive provides fast boot and application loading for the operating system and core programs. The 24 GB DDR4 memory allows smooth multitasking across many browser tabs, documents and typical business software. Storage space is limited for large media libraries or local databases; users with heavy local data needs will require external drives or cloud storage.

Thermals and power in daily use

The ultra-low-power i5-8250U processor keeps heat output modest during typical productivity workloads. Fan noise stays low for office tasks such as email, document editing and video calls. Under sustained heavy load the compact chassis can become warm and the fan spins up audibly. Integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics share system memory and are suited only for light visual work.

Questions about this item

Will the Thunderbolt port work with my older USB-C dock that only supports USB 3.1?

Yes, the Thunderbolt port is backwards compatible with USB-C docks and devices using USB 3.1 or earlier standards, though you will be limited to the dock's maximum speed rather than the port's full 40 Gbps capability.

How can I verify the 24GB of DDR4 memory is recognised and running correctly after first boot?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab, and click Memory; it should report 24 GB total with DDR4 listed as the type, confirming both the soldered and upgrade modules are active.

Does the package include a 4G LTE antenna or SIM tray tool, or must I source them separately?

The laptop ships with the WWAN antennas built into the display assembly and a SIM tray tool in the box, so no extra parts are needed for 4G LTE activation beyond an active nano-SIM card.
