Business ultraportable for mobile professionals

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480s is a 14.0-inch mainstream laptop built for productivity on the move. It ships new with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and a matte IPS FHD display running at 1920 x 1080 resolution. An Intel Core i5-8250U processor with a base clock of 1.60 GHz and turbo up to 3.40 GHz handles daily workloads. Integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics drive the non-touch screen.

24 GB DDR4 memory and 256 GB SSD capacity

The system provides 24 GB of DDR4 RAM, giving generous headroom for multitasking across many browser tabs and office applications. The 256 GB solid-state drive offers fast boot and load times, though the capacity fills quickly with large media libraries or local virtual machines. Storage expansion depends on internal slots not detailed in the supplied data.

Fingerprint reader and Thunderbolt connectivity

A match-on-chip fingerprint reader enables secure biometric login with anti-spoofing protection. ThinkShutter provides a physical webcam cover for privacy. Thunderbolt support over USB-C delivers up to 40 Gbps bandwidth for high-speed peripherals and dual 4K video output. Bluetooth 4.1 handles wireless accessories. The laptop weighs between 2 and 2.9 lbs and passes 21 MIL-SPEC durability tests.

Questions about this item

Will the Thunderbolt 3 port work with my older USB-C dock and monitors?

The Thunderbolt 3 port supports USB-C devices and can drive external displays while supplying power, so your existing dock and monitors will connect and function.

How can I verify the i5-8250U is reaching its 3.40 GHz boost after setup?

Open Task Manager's Performance tab or a hardware monitor and run a heavy single-thread load; the CPU frequency should climb toward 3.40 GHz when thermal headroom allows.

Does the box include the 24 GB DDR4 memory and 256 GB SSD, or must I buy them separately?

The 24 GB DDR4 memory and 256 GB SSD are already installed; the package also contains the laptop, AC adapter, power cord and documentation.
