Questions about this item

Will the 24GB DDR4 memory need an upgrade later?

The 24GB DDR4 configuration is already at the practical maximum for this platform, so no memory upgrade is expected.

What limits performance first during sustained workloads?

The Intel Core i5-8250U processor runs at 1.60 GHz base with turbo up to 3.40 GHz, and its integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics share system memory, so the CPU thermal envelope is the first limit.

How loud or hot does the laptop get when running all day?

The ThinkPad T480s passes 21 MIL-SPEC tests for reliability in harsh environments, and the 14" IPS FHD matte display with UltraNav touchpad runs without added heat from a touchscreen layer.
