Business Laptop With Dual Boot

The Lenovo Thinkpad T14 Gen 2 is a business laptop powered by an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor with four cores and a maximum turbo frequency of 4.2 GHz. It ships with 24GB of DDR4 memory and a 1TB PCIe SSD. The 14.0 inch Full HD IPS display runs at 1920 x 1080 resolution and includes a 720p webcam.

For Mobile Professionals, Not Heavy GPU Users

This notebook suits professionals who need reliable performance for office applications, video calls and coding across two operating systems. Buyers who require discrete graphics for 3D rendering, modern gaming or GPU-accelerated workloads should look at a different class of machine. The integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics handle desktop compositing and media playback but lack the compute units for intensive parallel tasks.

Single OS At Boot Time

The dual-boot configuration offers Windows 10 Pro and Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon on the same drive, but only one can run at a time. Switching between them requires a full reboot. If your workflow depends on running Windows and Linux applications simultaneously, this setup will not meet that need.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions of the T14 Gen 2 chassis for bag fit?

The chassis measures 12.9 in wide by 8.9 in deep by 0.70 in thick and weighs 3.23 lb, so a 14-inch sleeve with a little depth clearance fits best.

How do I access the dual-boot menu on this ThinkPad?

Power on the laptop; the bootloader appears automatically and lets you choose Windows 10 Pro or Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon. Both systems cannot run together, so a reboot is required to switch.

Which storage module can be upgraded later on this unit?

The 1 TB PCIe SSD sits in an M.2 slot and can be replaced with a larger PCIe drive, while the 24 GB DDR4 memory is soldered and not expandable.
