ThinkPad T480s 14" business laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480s is a 14-inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-8250U processor running at 1.60 GHz with a maximum turbo frequency of 3.40 GHz. It comes with 16 GB of DDR4 memory, a 180 GB SSD, and a 1920 x 1080 IPS matte display. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed.

Suits mobile professionals needing a vetted chassis

This unit fits buyers who want a MIL-SPEC tested frame, fingerprint reader, ThinkShutter webcam cover, and Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C in a package around 2.9 lbs. It is not for users who need a touchscreen, a larger screen, or more internal storage than 180 GB. Buyers requiring a discrete GPU should look elsewhere.

180 GB SSD capacity decides fit

The single specification that determines suitability is the 180 GB solid-state drive. If your operating system, applications, and active project files exceed this space, you will need external storage or a different laptop. The 16 GB DDR4 memory and 8th-generation Core i5 are fixed and not upgradeable.

How can I confirm the Intel Core i5-8250U reaches its 3.40 GHz turbo speed after setup?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab, and watch the CPU frequency climb to 3.40 GHz while running a demanding task.

Which items ship in the box and which must be purchased separately?

The laptop, 180GB SSD, 16GB DDR4 RAM, Windows 10 Pro licence, fingerprint reader, backlit keyboard, 4-in-1 card reader and ThinkShutter webcam cover are included; no extra parts are required for basic operation.

Should I choose the 14.0" 1920x1080 IPS matte panel or a different display option?
