Product Identity

The Lenovo ThinkPad T490 is a 14.0 inch business laptop with an Intel Core i5-8265U quad-core processor, 8GB DDR4 memory and a 256GB PCIe solid-state drive. It runs Windows 11 Pro and uses integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 on a 1920 x 1080 IPS display.

Fit and Limits

Suits mobile professionals needing a lightweight 14 inch chassis with Thunderbolt docking, wired Ethernet and a fingerprint reader for secure sign-in. Not suited for buyers who need discrete graphics performance, more than 16GB total memory, a touchscreen panel or a larger screen size.

Deciding Spec

The single fixed specification is the 8GB DDR4 memory with only one slot available, capping total capacity at 16GB. This limit determines whether the laptop can handle your workload or if you need a model with higher memory headroom.
