14-inch business laptop
The Lenovo ThinkPad T490 is a 14-inch laptop built for professional use. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core i5-8265U quad-core processor that reaches 3.9 GHz with Turbo Boost. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles the visual output on a non-touch FHD IPS panel. A 128 GB NVMe SSD and 8 GB of DDR4 memory complete the core configuration.
Who this suits
Office workers and mobile professionals who need a lightweight 14-inch machine for document editing, video calls and web-based workflows will find the specifications adequate. The 720p webcam, fingerprint reader and Thunderbolt port support typical business peripherals. Buyers who want more storage capacity, a dedicated graphics processor or a touchscreen display should consider other configurations.
Deciding specification
The 128 GB NVMe SSD is the single specification that decides whether this unit fits the workload. It provides fast boot and application launch times but leaves limited space for large local files, media libraries or multiple virtual machines. Users who rely on cloud storage or network drives can work comfortably within this capacity; those who keep large datasets on the device will need external or upgraded storage.
