ThinkPad X220 Touch Business Laptop

This 12.5" Lenovo ThinkPad X220 runs an Intel Core i5-2520M at up to 3.2 GHz with 16GB DDR3 RAM and a 2TB SSD. Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit is pre-installed. The HD touch display supports pen input for mobile professionals who need a compact, durable machine with a docking connector for shared workspaces.

2TB SSD and 16GB memory headroom

The 2TB solid-state drive stores large project files and local databases without relying on external media. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR3 memory keeps multiple business applications and browser sessions responsive. Integrated graphics share system memory, so heavy 3D rendering or modern gaming will exhaust the available frame buffer quickly.

Pen, touch and docking accessories included

A digitiser pen is bundled for precise on-screen annotation and signature capture. The touchscreen enables direct manipulation of Windows 7 touch gestures. The proprietary docking connector allows instant connection to ThinkPad T, L and W series docks for external monitors, wired LAN and peripheral expansion.

Questions about this item

Will the USB 3 ports and VGA or DisplayPort outputs on the ThinkPad X220 work with my older USB 2.0 drives and VGA monitor?

The three USB 3 ports are backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices, and the VGA and DisplayPort video outputs will drive a legacy VGA monitor or a DisplayPort display without adapters.

How can I verify the Core i5-2520M is reaching its 3.20 GHz turbo frequency and that the 16 GB DDR3 and 2 TB SSD are recognised?

Open Task Manager or a hardware monitor after boot; the CPU should show speeds up to 3.20 GHz under load, the memory tab will read 16 GB DDR3, and the storage view will list a 2 TB solid-state drive.

Does the box include the AC adapter and the pen for the 12.5" 1366x768 touch screen, or must I buy them separately?

The system ships with the AC power adapter; the digitiser pen for the HD touch display is not included and must be purchased separately.
