Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5 14" WQHD

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5 is a 14-inch laptop with a 2560 x 1440 IPS display. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core i7-7500U processor up to 3.5 GHz. The system includes 8GB of memory and a 2TB NVMe SSD. Integrated 4G LTE WWAN and Bluetooth 4.1 provide mobile connectivity.

Suits mobile professionals needing 4G LTE

This configuration suits users who require always-connected mobile broadband and a sharp 14.0" WQHD panel in a lightweight chassis. Buyers who need more than 8GB of memory or a touchscreen display should consider other models. The non-touch screen and fixed memory capacity limit upgrade flexibility for intensive multitasking.

Verify USB-C power and Thunderbolt 3 peripheral

Confirm that your existing USB-C chargers support the required power delivery profile for this laptop. Check whether any Thunderbolt 3 docks or external GPUs you plan to use are compatible with the Intel Thunderbolt 3 implementation. Ensure your mobile broadband plan matches the 4G LTE WWAN card capabilities.

Questions about this item

Does this ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5 need an external power brick, or can I charge it solely through its USB Type-C port?

The laptop supports USB Type-C charging, so a compatible USB-C power adapter can replace the traditional barrel connector.

Will my older USB-A peripherals work with the four USB ports on this model?

The four USB ports include legacy USB-A connectors, so existing mice, keyboards and flash drives plug in directly without adapters.

How can I verify the 4G LTE WWAN card is active after I insert a SIM?

Open Windows 10 Pro settings, select Network & Internet, then Cellular; the carrier name and signal bars appear when the WWAN module connects.
