ThinkPad T480s 1TB NVMe laptop

This Lenovo ThinkPad T480s is a 14.0-inch business laptop running Windows 10 Pro. It uses an Intel Core i5-8250U processor with a base frequency of 1.60 GHz and a turbo up to 3.40 GHz. The system includes 12 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB PCIe NVMe solid-state drive. A 14.0-inch IPS display provides a 1920 x 1080 matte finish.

Professionals needing Thunderbolt 3

The fingerprint reader and match-on-chip authentication suit users who prioritise quick, secure sign-in. Intel Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C delivers up to 40 Gbps bandwidth for fast data and video output. Buyers who want a touchscreen or a lighter ultraportable below the 2.9 lbs upper range should look at other models.

12 GB soldered-plus-slot memory configuration

The 12 GB total consists of 4 GB soldered to the board plus an 8 GB DDR4 SO-DIMM in the single available slot. This arrangement caps further memory upgrades at 20 GB maximum, so the specification decides whether the laptop meets future workload requirements.
