Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5 is a 14-inch mainstream laptop built for professionals who need a lightweight yet durable machine. It ships new with Windows 7 Professional, an Intel Core i7-7600U processor, 8GB of memory, and a 500GB SSD. The WQHD IPS display delivers a 2560 x 1440 resolution, and a 4G LTE WWAN card provides mobile broadband connectivity.

Verify OS support and port needs

Confirm that Windows 7 Professional meets your software and security requirements before ordering. Check that your peripherals work with the available USB ports and the USB Type-C charging interface. The integrated 4G LTE WWAN card requires a compatible nano-SIM and an active data plan to function. Bluetooth 4.1 handles wireless accessories.

The carbon-fiber reinforced chassis passes 12 military-grade requirements and more than 200 durability tests while weighing only 2.49 lbs. The Touch Sensor Fingerprint Reader offers more reliable authentication than typical swipe readers. Questions about this item

What comes in the box with the ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5 and do I need to buy a charger separately?

The laptop includes a USB Type-C charger so no separate power adapter is required.

Should I choose the 500GB SSD configuration or look for a larger drive?

The 500GB SSD is the only capacity offered with this model; if you need more space you would have to add external storage.

What does the 3.9 GHz figure mean for everyday performance?

That is the maximum turbo frequency of the i7-7600U; sustained speeds will be lower depending on workload and thermals.
