14-inch QHD ultrabook for mobile professionals

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 6 delivers a 2560 x 1440 IPS display in a 14.0-inch chassis. An 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor runs at 1.9 GHz with a 4.2 GHz turbo. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 memory and a 512 GB SSD provide responsive multitasking and fast storage. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed.

Simple deployment with integrated graphics only

The system arrives fully assembled with the operating system configured. No internal hardware installation is required by the buyer. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles everyday visual tasks but cannot accelerate modern 3D workloads or intensive video rendering. Buyers who need discrete GPU performance should consider a different platform.

512 GB SSD and 16 GB RAM for mainstream workloads

The solid-state drive offers 512 GB of capacity for the operating system, applications and active project files. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 memory keeps multiple business applications and browser tabs running smoothly. Very large media libraries, virtual-machine clusters or heavy creative suites will exceed the available headroom.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the 14" QHD 2560 x 1440 IPS panel is running at its native resolution after setup?

Open Windows Display Settings and verify the resolution reads 2560 x 1440 with the recommended tag; the Intel UHD Graphics 620 driver will also report the native timing in its control panel.

The title lists 16 GB DDR4 and a 512 GB SSD — are both already installed or do I need to add memory or storage myself?

The unit ships with 16 GB DDR4 soldered to the board and a 512 GB M.2 SSD pre-installed; no extra RAM modules or drives are required for the advertised configuration.

Should I choose the 256 GB or 512 GB SSD option when the i7-8650U and 16 GB RAM are identical?

Pick 512 GB if you keep large project files or media locally; 256 GB covers the OS and everyday apps but leaves less room for offline datasets.
