Business tablet laptop for mobile professionals

The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 Tablet combines a 12.5-inch HD touch display with a Core i7-2640M processor running up to 3.50 GHz. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR3 memory and a 128GB SSD support multitasking and fast boot times. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed for immediate deployment.

Included pen and dual microphone array

An active pen enables direct on-screen input for annotation and signatures. Two microphone configurations switch between private-chat noise suppression and conference-call room pickup. Keyboard noise reduction and mute-status LEDs keep audio clean during calls. The docking connector allows shared use with compatible ThinkPad docks.

Simple setup with common failure points

Windows 10 Pro boots to a ready desktop; driver installation is standard for the era. The 1366x768 resolution limits modern multi-window workflows. Shared video memory reduces graphics headroom for demanding applications. The 802.11b/g/n wireless and 10/100/1000 LAN suit legacy networks but not current high-density Wi-Fi environments.

Questions about this item

Will the 16GB DDR3 memory need an upgrade later?

The 16GB DDR3 is the maximum supported capacity, so no further memory upgrade is possible.

What limits the i7-2640M at 3.50 GHz during sustained workloads?

The dual-core processor reaches its 3.50 GHz turbo ceiling and shared thermal envelope before the 128GB SSD or 16GB RAM become bottlenecks.

How loud and hot does the X220 get when running all day?

The Active Protection System and redesigned hinge manage heat, while the ThinkPad keyboard design minimises fan noise during extended use.
