Business Ultrabook for Mobile Professionals

The Lenovo ThinkPad X240 is a 12.5 inch business ultrabook running Windows 8.1 Pro. It combines an Intel Core i7-4600U processor with 8GB DDR3 memory and a 2TB solid state drive. The HD IPS touch display offers 1366 x 768 resolution in a carbon fibre reinforced chassis tested to eight MIL-SPEC parameters including 15000 ft altitude simulation.

Suits Travellers Needing Durability and Touch Input

This ultrabook fits users who want a lightweight, rugged device with a spill-resistant backlit keyboard and fingerprint reader for secure login. Bluetooth 4.0 handles wireless peripherals while the headphone/microphone combo jack covers audio. Buyers who want a higher resolution screen, more than two USB ports, or a newer operating system should look at something else.

12.5 Inch HD IPS Touch Display Decides Fit

The 1366 x 768 touchscreen determines whether this X240 matches the workflow. It provides direct on-screen interaction and wide viewing angles from the IPS panel at this specific pixel density. If the application demands more screen real estate or sharper text rendering, the display specification makes this model unsuitable.
