Purpose-built business laptop

The Lenovo V15 G4 is a 15.6-inch Windows 11 Pro notebook aimed at office professionals and students who need a reliable daily driver. Its eight-core Ryzen 7 7730U processor reaches 4.50 GHz turbo frequency with 16 MB L3 cache for responsive multitasking. The 1920 x 1080 anti-glare panel reduces reflections in bright environments. Integrated Radeon graphics handle standard productivity workloads without a discrete GPU.

Thermals and power in daily use

The 64-bit eight-core CPU operates at a 2.0 GHz base clock, scaling to 4.50 GHz under load while the integrated Radeon shares system memory. Fan noise stays modest during document editing, web browsing and video playback because the chip targets efficiency over peak performance. The included power adapter supplies the 45 W needed for typical business tasks without drawing excessive current from wall outlets.

Chassis, connectors and everyday practicality

A black plastic chassis weighs 3.64 lbs and measures 14.14 x 9.28 x 0.78 inches, fitting common 15-inch bags. Ports include one USB 2.0 Type-A, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C, HDMI 1.4b, RJ-45 Ethernet and a combo audio jack. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 provide modern wireless connectivity. The 720p webcam includes a physical privacy shutter and the keyboard offers a numeric keypad without backlighting.

Questions about this item

How do I add more memory to the 8 GB that comes with the Ryzen 7 7730U, and what step is often missed?

The laptop uses soldered memory, so the 8 GB cannot be upgraded; the step people miss is checking that the RAM is not socketed before buying a module.

Which part will need replacement first during long-term ownership?

The 1 TB solid-state drive is the only user-replaceable component and will likely be the first item swapped for a larger or faster unit.

What thermal limit appears first when the 8-core processor runs at 4.5 GHz for extended periods?

The integrated Radeon graphics share the same heat pipes as the CPU, so sustained turbo clocks hit the thermal ceiling and throttle both compute and graphics together.
