Leviton 15A Vinyl Round Plug

This Leviton 15A vinyl round plug is a residential-grade, non-grounding, non-polarized straight-blade connector. It carries a NEMA 1-15P configuration and matches catalog number 6120 outlets. Brass blades and zinc-plated steel assembly screws provide durable electrical contact. The vinyl body insulates the assembly for standard household use.

Suits basic two-wire connections

It suits anyone replacing a worn plug on a lamp, clock or small appliance that uses a two-wire cord. It is not for appliances that require a grounding pin or a polarised blade arrangement. Builders wiring circuits that need an equipment-ground conductor should look at a different device.

NEMA 1-15P non-grounding configuration

The single specification that decides fit is the NEMA 1-15P two-blade, non-grounding layout. Verify that the outlet and the cord are both two-wire before installing this plug.

Questions about this item

What diameter cable can the vinyl body of the 1064-3609 plug accept?

The vinyl body is designed for standard lamp-cord sizes; strip the conductors to the length shown on the device and tighten the zinc-plated steel assembly screws securely.

Which step do installers most often miss when wiring this non-polarised 1-15P plug?

They forget to loosen both brass terminal screws before inserting the stripped wires, then fail to tighten each screw fully so the brass blades make solid contact.

When should the 1064-3609 plug be replaced rather than reused?

Replace it if the vinyl body shows cracking, the brass blades are bent or discoloured, or the assembly screws no longer hold the cord firmly.
