15-inch ultra-light notebook for mobile

The LG UltraPC 15U50Q-G.APB5U1 weighs 3.85 lbs and fits a 15.0-inch Full HD 1920 x 1080 non-touch display into a slim chassis. An Intel Core i5-1235P dodeca-core processor running at 1.70 GHz provides 12 threads for everyday multitasking. Integrated Iris Xe graphics handle general productivity and light media work. The system ships with Windows and includes LG Glance by Mirametrix for presence-based screen locking and privacy blurring.

8 GB soldered memory and 512 GB SSD define

All 8 GB of RAM is on-board memory, so the capacity cannot be increased after purchase. The 512 GB solid-state drive stores the operating system and primary applications. A single HDMI port allows connection to an external monitor or projector. Bluetooth is built in for wireless peripherals, and a 720p webcam supports video calls. Buyers who need more than 8 GB of memory or user-replaceable storage should consider a different platform.

Sustained workloads stay within the thin thermal

The lightweight design uses a compact cooling solution sized for the 12-core processor's base power rather than extended turbo boost. Under continuous multi-threaded loads such as video encoding or large spreadsheet recalculation, clock speeds will settle below the maximum single-core frequency to manage heat. Surface temperatures on the keyboard deck and bottom panel rise noticeably during long sessions. The integrated graphics share system memory, so heavy GPU compute reduces bandwidth available to the CPU cores.

Questions about this item

How long can the 512 GB SSD handle continuous write workloads before slowing down?

The 512 GB solid-state drive provides fast storage for the operating system and applications, while the 12-core i5-1235P processor manages sustained multi-tasking performance.

What are the thermal and noise characteristics when the i5-1235P runs at 1.70 GHz all day?

The lightweight 3.85 lb chassis uses integrated Iris Xe graphics, which helps keep heat and fan noise lower than discrete-GPU designs during extended use.

Which peripherals need to be supplied separately to use the HDMI output and webcam?

An external monitor or projector with an HDMI cable is required for the HDMI port, while the built-in webcam works immediately with no extra hardware.
