Ultra-short throw projection

The LG HU715QW uses a 0.22 throw ratio to fill a large screen from just centimetres away, making it suitable for small meeting rooms, classrooms or home offices where ceiling mounting is impractical. Its DLP engine delivers native 3840 x 2160 resolution at a 16:9 aspect ratio with 2700 lumens of brightness and a 150000:1 contrast ratio. Built-in 40 W stereo speakers and Bluetooth audio output handle sound without external gear.

Sustained brightness and heat

Rated at 350 watts maximum power draw, the projector maintains its 2700-lumen output over long presentations without the brightness drop-off common in lamp-based units. The DLP light source runs cooler and quieter, so fan noise stays low during multi-hour sessions. Vertical refresh reaches 270 Hz, keeping motion smooth for video playback or interactive whiteboarding.

Connectivity for fixed installs

Two HDMI inputs and an RJ45 network port allow permanent wiring to a PC, media player and building management system. USB playback supports direct file access, while wireless screen sharing from laptops and phones removes cable clutter. The unit weighs 26.9 lbs and measures 26.8 x 5 x 13.7 inches, so it needs a sturdy shelf or low stand rather than a ceiling bracket.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the 350-watt HU715QW get when running all day?

The unit draws 350 watts, so expect noticeable heat output and fan noise during extended use; ensure adequate ventilation around the 26.8 × 5 × 13.7 inch cabinet.

Which cables or devices must I already own to connect the HU715QW?

You need an HDMI source and cable for video, plus a network cable for the RJ45 port if you want wired LAN; the projector has two HDMI inputs and built-in speakers.

Will my older 1080p laptop work with the 3840 × 2160 native resolution?

Yes — the projector accepts lower-resolution signals and scales them to its 3840 × 2160 panel via the HDMI inputs.
