RG6 Quad Shield Coaxial Cable

This 500-foot reel of RG6U quad shield coaxial cable is built for digital HDTV, CATV and satellite installations. The 18AWG copper-clad steel conductor and four-layer shielding suit residential and light-commercial surveillance runs where signal integrity over distance matters.

Shielding Performance Over Long Runs

Quad shielding combines bonded and unbonded aluminum foils with 60-percent and 40-percent aluminum braids to maintain attenuation control across the full 3.0 GHz sweep-tested bandwidth. The gas-injected foam polyethylene dielectric keeps capacitance stable, so video and data signals stay clean through the entire 500-foot length.

CM-Rated Flame Retardant Jacket

The PVC jacket carries a CM/CATV ETL listing and RoHS compliance, allowing in-wall and plenum-adjacent routing without additional conduit in many jurisdictions. Sequential length markings on the jacket simplify pull planning and reduce waste on multi-drop surveillance projects.

Questions about this item

How much signal loss should I expect when running this 500-foot RG6 quad-shield cable at 3.0 GHz?

The cable is fully sweep-tested to 3000 MHz with gas-injected foam polyethylene dielectric and quad shielding (bonded foil, 60% braid, unbonded foil, 40% braid) to minimise attenuation over the 500-foot length.

What connectors and tools do I need to terminate this 18AWG copper-clad steel coaxial cable?

You will need RG6-compatible compression or crimp connectors rated for 18AWG CCS conductor and a coaxial cable stripper, compression tool or crimp tool to attach them.

Can I pull this CM-rated 500-foot reel through the same conduit as existing lower-frequency coax runs?

The PVC flame-retardant CM-rated jacket and sequential length markings allow safe in-wall installation alongside existing coax, provided conduit fill limits are observed.
