Home safety security wire

This Logico PLC4202 cable is a 22AWG four-conductor security wire designed for low-voltage alarm installations. It suits installers and DIY users wiring sensors, keypads and motion detectors to a control panel. The white PVC jacket blends with typical residential trim. It comes in a 500ft pull box for continuous runs.

CL2 rated solid CCA conductors

The single specification that decides fit is the CL2 rating combined with solid copper-clad aluminium conductors. CL2 approval permits in-wall routing for power-limited circuits in most codes. The 22AWG four-core layout matches standard contact and motion-device wiring. CCA material keeps cost lower than pure copper while meeting the voltage requirements.

Pull-box feed eases long runs

The pull-box packaging feeds cable smoothly through studs and conduit without tangling. Solid conductors hold shape for punch-down terminals but can fracture if bent sharply at tight corners. Strip the jacket carefully to avoid nicking the aluminium-clad cores, which are softer than copper. No special tools are required beyond a basic wire stripper and punch-down tool.

Questions about this item

What does 22AWG mean for the thickness of each conductor in a real installation?

22AWG indicates a thin solid conductor suitable for low-voltage sensor runs such as door contacts and keypads, not for mains power circuits.

What does the CL2 rating allow and restrict for this cable?

CL2 rating means the cable is approved for in-wall, power-limited use; it is not rated for plenum air spaces or direct burial outdoors.

What physical space does the 500ft pull box need for mounting or storage?

The pull box holds 500 feet (152 meters) of white PVC-jacketed cable and is designed to sit on a shelf or floor during installation.
