Mechanical gaming keyboard with GX Brown switches

The Logitech G512 Carbon is a high-performance LIGHTSYNC RGB mechanical keyboard designed for gamers who want per-key lighting customisation and a dedicated USB pass-through port. It connects via USB and is configured through Logitech G HUB software.

Gamers wanting tactile feedback

Suits players who prefer discernible tactile actuation and need a convenient port for a mouse, flash drive or phone charging. Not for users who want linear or clicky switch feel, wireless connectivity, or a compact layout without a number pad.

GX Brown tactile mechanical switches

GX Brown switches provide traditional tactile feedback with a discernible actuation point for direct response. The keyboard also offers per-key RGB lighting across approximately 16.8M colours and FN-key media controls for volume, playback and game mode toggling.

Questions about this item

Which G512 switch variant should I pick — GX Brown, Linear or Clicky?

GX Brown gives a tactile bump at the actuation point; Linear is smooth with no bump; Clicky adds an audible click. All three share the same RGB lighting and USB pass-through.

What does the 16.8M colour figure mean once the keyboard is in use?

Each key can be set to any of roughly 16.8 million colours through Logitech G HUB, allowing per-key lighting, animated effects and game-integrated colour changes.

What does the USB pass-through port actually support?

The port passes USB data and power straight from the PC, so you can plug in a mouse, flash drive or phone for data transfer or charging without reaching the rear I/O.
