Blue Snowball USB microphone for creators

The Logitech Blue Snowball is a USB condenser microphone designed for desktop recording, streaming, podcasting and voice chat. Its dual-capsule arrangement captures vocals and instruments with studio-quality presence and detail. The microphone connects directly to a Windows or Mac computer without additional drivers. It suits content creators who need an immediate upgrade from built-in laptop microphones.

Retro design with adjustable stand and two polar

A gloss black finish and classic rounded grille give the Snowball a distinctive look that works well on camera. The package includes a fully adjustable metal desktop stand and a USB cable for plug-and-play operation. Users can select cardioid pickup for focused solo recording or omnidirectional mode to capture group discussions and conference calls. A built-in -10 dB pad prevents distortion on louder sources such as singing or amplified instruments.

Upgrade from basic headsets

The Snowball replaces entry-level headset microphones and single-capsule USB models that lack pattern switching or a pad function. The jump is worth it when you need cardioid isolation for streaming, omnidirectional flexibility for meetings, or cleaner headroom for musical performances. It is not suited for buyers who require XLR connectivity, higher sample rates than 44.1 kHz / 16 bit, or multi-microphone channel recording.

Questions about this item

What USB standard does the Snowball use and what sample rate does that limit it to?

It connects over USB 1.1 and records at 44.1 kHz / 16 bit, so the interface caps the digital output at CD-quality resolution.

What does the microphone need to sit on a desk?

The box includes a fully adjustable metal desktop stand that threads onto the mic, so no separate boom arm or shock mount is required.

How do I switch between cardioid and omnidirectional patterns on the Snowball?

Use the three-position switch on the back: position 1 is cardioid, position 2 is cardioid with -10 dB pad, and position 3 is omnidirectional.
