Right-hand comfort mouse

The Logitech Signature Comfort M840 L is a right-handed wireless mouse shaped for extended desktop sessions. It connects through Bluetooth or the included 2.40 GHz receiver and works with both PC and Mac platforms. The optical sensor reaches 4000 dpi for precise cursor control.

Silent clicks and long battery life

Silent click switches keep keyboard-style noise to a minimum in shared spaces. The optical sensor draws little power, so the single AA battery lasts months of daily use without a recharge. SmartWheel scrolling switches automatically between ratchet and free-spin modes.

Contoured shape with programmable buttons

A sculpted thumb rest and contoured profile support a relaxed palm grip for right-handed users. Six buttons can be remapped through Logitech Options software for shortcuts or app-specific actions. The USB receiver stores inside the battery compartment when travelling.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the M840 L using the 2.40 GHz receiver?

Plug the USB receiver into an open port; the mouse pairs automatically. The step users miss is switching the underside button to the radio-frequency position instead of leaving it on Bluetooth.

Which parts of the M840 L will need replacement over time?

The two AA batteries powering the optical sensor and wireless radio will need swapping. The PTFE feet may wear after heavy daily use, and the scroll-wheel mechanism can develop looseness after extended scrolling sessions.

What limit appears first during long work sessions with the 4000 dpi sensor?

Continuous high-dpi tracking drains the AA cells faster, so battery runtime becomes the first constraint. Heavy clicking also builds heat in the silent-switch mechanism, which can temporarily reduce click responsiveness until the mouse cools.
