Magnetic 10Gbps NVMe Enclosure for iPhone Pro
This magnetic M.2 NVMe enclosure connects to iPhone 15, 16 and 17 Pro and Pro Max models via USB-C. It accepts 2230 and 2242 M-key drives up to 2TB, letting you record 4K ProRes video directly to external storage. USB 3.2 Gen2 provides up to 10Gbps transfer speeds for fast offloads. The unit also works with iPad Pro, MacBook, Android phones, laptops and tablets.
PD 100W Charging and 17-Magnet Array
A built-in PD 100W port delivers up to 85W output while data moves, so the iPhone stays powered during long ProRes sessions. Seventeen magnets hold the enclosure firmly in place, preventing disconnects when the cable moves. The bundle includes a .3m USB-C cable, a magnetic ring for non-MagSafe cases, a thermal pad, screws and a screwdriver. Note that M-key NVMe drives are required; M SATA and M.2 SATA SSDs will not work.
Tool-Free M.2 Installation with Thermal Pad
Insert the 2230 or 2242 NVMe stick, secure it with the supplied screw, apply the thermal pad and snap the cover shut — no special tools needed. The magnetic ring adds MagSafe compatibility for cases without built-in magnets. Common issues: forgetting the M-key requirement, using a SATA M.2 drive, or skipping the thermal pad, which can throttle sustained 4K 120fps writes on iPhone 16 and 17 Pro models.

Questions about this item
Will the thermal pad need replacing after heavy ProRes recording sessions?
The included thermal pad handles heat from NVMe 2230 or 2242 drives during sustained 4K ProRes capture; replace it if it loses tackiness or compresses permanently.
Does the 10 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen2 link or the NVMe drive saturate first during long 4K 120 fps writes?
Sustained 4K ProRes HDR at 120 fps on iPhone 16 or 17 Pro Max can push the 10 Gbps bandwidth ceiling before the NVMe drive reaches its limit.
How warm does the aluminium shell get and what power does the PD port draw during all-day recording?
The enclosure stays warm but not hot during continuous 4K ProRes recording; the PD port delivers up to 85 W to the iPhone while drawing 100 W from the charger.
