Self-powered design with onboard protection

FebSmart Self-Powered Technology converts 12 V from the slot into 5 V at up to 3 A per port, 6 A total, removing the need for a separate PSU connection. Each port is guarded by an electronic fuse, a voltage-stable capacitor and an inductor to protect attached devices and data. The Renesas UPD720201 host controller provides compatibility across ARM, AMD and Intel platforms.
