What this adapter does
The LORDWORLD adapter connects an M.2 module to a 2.5-inch drive bay using either an SFF-8643 HD Mini interface for PCIe drives or a SATA 22-pin interface for SATA drives. It accepts modules in 22110, 2280, 2260, 2242 and 2230 sizes with key B or key B+M. The card operates on a PCIe 3.0 x4 link and is intended solely for PCIe SSDs, not for SAS or HD Mini SAS HD devices.
Dual connection options
Two distinct installation paths are possible. A PCIe M.2 SSD can be mounted internally via the SFF-8643 HD Mini connector, while a SATA M.2 SSD uses the SATA 22-pin connector. Both configurations present the M.2 drive as a 2.5-inch replacement, letting builders reuse existing drive bays and cabling without adding a separate PCIe expansion card.
Installation notes
The board fits inside the chassis and secures with standard M.2 mounting screws. The main difficulty is matching the correct interface: the SFF-8643 port works only with PCIe drives, and the SATA port works only with SATA drives. Builders who need SAS connectivity or who plan to use M-key-only NVMe modules without B+M keying will find this adapter unsuitable.

Questions about this item
What SSD lengths and key types does this LORDWORLD adapter accept for future upgrades?
It fits M.2 modules sized 2230, 2242, 2260, 2280 and 22110 with key B or key B+M, covering both SATA and PCIe drives.
Which interface caps throughput first when the adapter runs at PCIe 3.0 x4?
The PCIe 3.0 x4 host link is the bottleneck, limiting an NVMe SSD to roughly 4 GB/s even if the drive itself is faster.
Does the board add fan noise or extra heat during all-day operation?
The adapter has no active cooling, so it adds no fan noise; heat comes only from the installed SSD and the PCIe 3.0 x4 controller.
