Two-Drawer Lateral File

The Lorell 18223 Essentials is a laminate lateral file with two drawers. Lockable drawers, ball-bearing glides, anti-tip construction and adjustable levelers are included. The unit measures 29.50" x 36.00" x 22.00". It is sold new.

Suits offices needing side-by-side filing

This file serves workplaces that store letter- or legal-size folders in two wide drawers. The lock secures confidential documents and the anti-tip design prevents tipping when a drawer is fully extended. Buyers who need more than two drawers or a vertical orientation should consider other configurations.

36.00-inch drawer width

The 36.00-inch width determines how many hanging folders fit side by side. Verify that this dimension matches the available wall space and the folder system in use before purchase.

Questions about this item

Will the 36.00" wide lateral file sit level on uneven flooring alongside my existing desk?

Yes, the adjustable levelers on the 18223 let you compensate for uneven floors so the cabinet aligns with a standard desk height of 29.50".

How can I confirm the anti-tip mechanism and ball-bearing glides are functioning after assembly?

Load both drawers, then extend one fully — the anti-tip interlock prevents a second drawer from opening, and the ball-bearing glides should move smoothly without binding.

Does the 18223 ship with the lock hardware installed, or must I buy a separate key kit?

The lockable drawer comes with the lock cylinder and two keys already fitted; no additional hardware is required.
