Five-Drawer Lateral File

The Lorell 43512 lateral file provides five drawers in a 36-inch wide cabinet finished in putty. Heavy-duty ball-bearing slides give smooth travel on every drawer. Dual lock bars and an interlock system prevent more than one drawer opening at once.

Roll-Out Shelf Access

The top four drawers use receding fronts with roll-out shelves so files are reachable without leaning over a deep drawer. The upper two shelves are sized for binder storage. Hangrails accept letter, legal or A4 folders side-to-side.

Fixed-Bottom Alternative

The bottom drawer keeps a fixed front, so it suits bulk storage rather than frequent file retrieval. No dividers are included. Buyers needing configurable compartments or a taller cabinet for more drawers will need a different unit.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 5-drawer 36x18x68 model or the 4-shelf add-on wire shelving unit?

The 5-drawer lateral file provides lockable, high-density filing with roll-out shelves for binders, while the 4-shelf wire unit offers open 1000 lb capacity storage; choose based on security and organisation needs.

What does the 36-inch width mean for my office layout?

At 36 inches wide, 18-5/8 inches deep and 68-3/4 inches tall, the cabinet fits standard lateral-file footprints and requires clearance for full drawer extension and the interlock safety feature.

How do the ANSI/BIFMA standards affect daily use?

Meeting ANSI/BIFMA standards means the ball-bearing slides, dual lock bars, interlock system and reinforced double-base construction are tested for durability, stability and safe operation in commercial environments.
